Kelsey full of energy before the concert. The Sprague Orchestra held a fundraiser comprising a benefit concert and silent auction to raise funds for their upcoming trip to New York to compete in the Heritage Festival at Riverside Church (NJ).  Both Olivia and Kelsey performed.  See the program at Sprague Orchestra site here.  Olivia played in the combined Crossler/Judson ensemble composed of the students from both school's advanced orchestras.  Olivia sat 3rd chair in the cello section and joined in playing the Moderato of "Country Wedding from The Moldan" by Smetana arranged by Dackow.  Kelsey had a bit more work to do.  Sitting 3rd chair in the viola section of the Camerata Orchestra, Olivia getting ready to playSprague's "varsity" orchestra, she first played her part for two movements of Corelli's Suite for Strings followed by an accompanying role in Telemann's Two Viola Concerto and concluding with a very impressive performance of the 2nd and 4th movements of Respighi's Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No. 3.  Even in these difficult economic times the concert and auction did fairly well.  Around 300 people attended the concert and all told the attendees doubled their ticket prices through their auction purchases.  Follow this link to the photo album.
